Is The Fear Of Public Speaking My Fault Or Yours?
Does your fear of public speaking really have anything to do with other people watching or listening to you? You might think it does, but you’re a “bit wrong”.
In fact, the reality of public speaking only exists in your mind and therefore your perception of how other people watching and hearing you speak is purely controlled (good or bad) through your own thoughts.
It is insane to think that every single person in your audience will have the same thoughts about your speech. It is also insane to believe that their thoughts make any difference to you. You see, the people watching and listening to you are doing so for a positive reason, not a negative one.
Effect Vs Affect
These two words, with such different meanings, are frequently interchanged in writing. The problem is that they sound so similar, which causes many writers to use the wrong one. A little basic knowledge of English grammar will help you know which one to use–and why.
1. Common uses
“Effect” is most commonly used as a noun and refers to something that happens because of some action or event. A good synonym is “result.” For example, pretend that you are watching a fireworks display, and one rocket makes a really big boom. The person next to you, deafened by the blast, turns to you and shouts, “That was a really great effect.” That person is referring to the blast that occurred when the rocket exploded, i.e., the result of the explosion.
Copywriting - 5 Mega Successful Copywriting Techniques
If you scrimp on copywriting, your business cannot possibly succeed. Without high quality copywriting, a business presents itself weakly, communication lacks power and impact, and the customer won’t know what you’re selling. Great Graphics may catch the attention of your reader, but Quality Copy keeps them reading. These five essential techniques offer substantial value to web copy:
1. Offer Concise Informative Information
Be specific. Generalizations in copywriting just don’t cut it. You may capture attention with a generalization about the site, on the first page, but after that your reader expects content with VALUE. Skip the VALUE and your READER will skip the page!

Some Thoughts On Self-publishing
Publishing a book is easier today than it’s ever been. That’s a good thing. Many wonderful books would go unseen if that weren’t true. People who publish their work do so because they like what they’ve written. I do.
I have a certain criteria for the books that I read, and I try to apply it to the books I write. Since I read a great number of books, I know there’s a market for mine. My question then, is how do I find the hundreds of thousand of people who would enjoy my books? How do I let them know that Kerry Grant is solving mysteries?
Sell More Books With A Book Sales Letter On Your Web Site
First things first; words sell not graphics or flashy websites. Pretty pictures and web design have never sold anyone anything; only words can do that. You must write to convince people to take action.
Most prospects will never pull out their wallets because they like your web design; they do so only when your words convince them to. Here are some tips and a template to create compelling sales letters that sell your book:
1. Create a compelling (must get information) headline.
Presenting In The 21st Century
In the middle of July, 24 publishers awaited the marketing presentation about to be given by nationally-recognized expert speaker, Brian Jud. Attendees settled in their seats. Brian and I chatted as we prepared to begin. When everyone had gathered, I began to describe the event and then introduce our speaker.
But these weren’t ordinary presentation circumstances: I was deaf and blind to our audience, I couldn’t see or hear a soul. I had first-timer nerves. I had to have faith that the system was working.
Script & Phone Copy - Write For The Ear
In the hundreds of hours I’ve devoted to waiting on hold for people, I’ve listened to many messages that are nothing short of torturous. I’m not talking about reminders that I’m being kept on hold because my business is incredibly important – the problem usually shows up in the sales messages that pop up every twenty seconds or so.
Now, you probably think I’m going to condemn people for capturing the opportunity to sell to a captive audience. Not at all. I think on-hold messaging is an admirable way to turn an often-unavoidable inconvenience into a marketing opportunity.
