Learn to deal with your frustration, rejection and disappointment. Learn to rebound from setbacks. We all face something during our lifetime that we find hard to deal with. This could be a divorce, the death of a loved one, financial problems, disease or illness, etc. We cannot stop the wind blowing but we can adjust our sails accordingly.
The grass is always greener on the other side of the fence, which means that we tend to think we are the only ones facing bad luck. The truth is that we do not know the setbacks and difficulties of the people we consider luckier. We easily assume that, for instance, wealth buys happiness and health. Although wealth can perhaps seem to soften the rough edges of a rocky ride, it is certainly not the Holy Grail to worship.
Dealing with frustration, rejection or disappointment is not easy. The first question we usually ask is, “why me?” and the answer is usually a philosophical one. There is a lesson to be learned in every difficulty. The most optimistic people see a difficulty as an opportunity, but this answer does not satisfy everybody. However, looking for an answer or a reason for our troubles does not make them disappear or solve them.
Looking for someone to blame for our difficulties takes us further back in our setbacks. We are 100% responsible for our successes and failures, although we would like to take the benefit of our successes and leave the failures to someone else to handle. Unfortunately it is not possible to practice cherry picking in our lives.
Author Willie Jolley reminds us that a setback is only a setup for a comeback. He wrote a whole book about setbacks and how to overcome them .
No one is saying that setbacks are welcome in our lives and easy to deal with, but after going through one or two, we learn something valuable in our lives and we are probably ready to move on in our lives. There is always a morning after a night.
Question 1 : What setbacks you have experienced in your life?
Question 2 : How have you handled them?
Question 3 : What have you learned from your setbacks?
Being an entrepreneur is a journey inside myself to find out how far I can go and particularly what I can achieve in my life. To me it is really a dream coming true and I would like to share my experience with other people who are perhaps thinking of starting a business and becoming an entrepreneur. I am particularly interested in giving a helping hand by showing how ideas can become good ideas.
